Zona Two opened this week with the hope of recapturing the fun and excitement of the original Zona Blue in San José, Costa Rica. The original Zona Blue was made famous in part by Cuba Dave who distributed photos of the girls and parties between 2005 and 2008. Later the venue re-branded as Hotel Little Havana (HLH) and added a cigar shop.
Since changing hands twice, the new slate of owners have redivided the two properties with HLH occupying the new building, and Zona Two taking over the original building and entrance. New management at HLH plan to relaunch the property as Scores Caberet and Sports Bar while the Zona Two Hotel and Lounge will seek to rekindle the glory days of mongering in Costa Rica.
Zona Two offers four hotel suites for $140 a night, and several short term rooms for the frequent romances that are expected to develop between bar patrons and the local ladies. Bar hours are from 10am to 8pm (11am on Sunday) and happy hour is from 1pm to 2pm, and 5pm to 7pm. Every day at 5pm there is a raffle for a fabulous prize.
