Public beach known as Playa Alicia, and remodeled as the Waterfront in Sousa, Dominican Republic is an upscale alternative to the funkier public beach, Playa Sosua.
However, don’t expect to find any girls looking for a date on Playa Alicia. Locals are wary of the beach because it appeared suddenly after an earthquake. Some also worry that the steep stair could create a barrier to escape in the event of a large wave or tsunami. It can be a nice respite from from the mobs of hawkers who patrol Playa Sousa.
