A doctor from New York found out the unpleasant way that what happens in Costa Rica, does not always stay in Costa Rica. A recent article in the Costa Rican times explains how an investigator from the Willspy detective agency in Costa Rica tracked the wayward doctor, and obtained photos and surveillance of him negotiating with a prostitute at the Marriott Hotel in Heredia.
The log details the initial contact, and her trip to his hotel room.
The article goes on to use outdated statistics and talk at length about the risk of sexually transmitted diseases in Costa Rica. It does at least, help to dispel one of the frequent myths that prostitution in Costa Rica is somehow regulated and sick women are prevented from working. The threat of taking home an infection should inspire gentleman to practice safe sex.
Those who are married should think twice about cheating in Costa Rica, especially when their wives have the resources to hire a detective in Costa Rica. Agencies like Willspy are just too well established, and after years of marketing are easy for a spouse with a little cash to find and hire. Also, tracking tourists through the San Jose suburbs is just too easy.
Destinations in a country like Colombia provide a better alternative for cheating husbands. The cost of hiring a detective are higher, given the country’s reputation for internal strife and lack of bilingual labor. There are also far fewer expats like the managers of the Willspy agency.
Not every gentleman who comes to Costa Rica in search of sex is married. These days the venue is far more popular for the divorced, single, and even guys who bring their wife along for the fun.
